House Cleaning
I've been thinking for a while about reworking some things here and I want to let you know about them:
Hall of Fame
I reworked the Hall of Fame and split up the giant table by year. In case anyone ever wants to check out what has been previously finished - it's now easier to note the years. With image hosts shutting down or people moving elsewhere - you never know with older posts.
Sign Ups
I've considered off and on what to do about claims that are past their due dates - especially since I want this to be low pressure and am always willing to give extensions. Even if it's been ages since it's seen any activity. If life clears up time again or inspiration returns - yay. Sometimes, people might forget they claimed something though or life just moves in a different direction.
For now, I've gone with something that might be a middle ground: Any claim that was due in 2023 or earlier has been put "on hold". I'm contemplating to put this on all claims past their due date (maybe by checking every quarter?). I'm also contemplating to just say that anything that's still on hold after a year clearly has been abandoned/forgotten about and I'll remove it from the list.
Just in case anyone ever suddenly remembers and wonders what happened to their claim.
If your claim is on hold and you want to continue - just let me know and I'll set a new due date. You can let me know how much you think you need or I'll just restart the timer. Feel free to keep the progress you already made.
If you know you won't ever want to finish a claim: Just let me know and I'll remove it.
Beyond that: I hope everybody has or had depending on where you live a good start to the new year. :)

As someone who is perennially unable to commit, I think that putting old tables on hold is a fantastic idea! It could very well be a great one-two punch of reaching out to past years' participants with a gentle nudge, "hey, you had this commitment and your card is more than 1 year old. Want to hop back in and finish it?" (Purely optional; that sounds like a lot of work, too.)
I don't think it would hurt to hold on to that information somewhere, even if it's an old post that is no longer stickied with the topmost information. DW is good about holding space for old things.

Which is why I've never really cleaned up the claim list so far. One open claim had been due in 2021 it started looking a bit odd to me. Still, I didn't want to just drop them. Who knows - maybe I'll end up just holding them forever instead now that there's no year associated with it :)
Drawing icons sure sounds like a lot of work! I can see how it would be harder to keep up.

I know I've been repeatedly guilty of finishing claims past their due date (something I'm trying really hard to do better with) so I always appreciate your leniency in giving extensions. I think your idea of putting old claims on hold makes a lot of sense.
Hope you have a fantastic New Years Day! Happy 2025!

I think the due dates are in part to give time periods during which prompts don't repeat and because I needed to keep myself on track somehow whenever I claim something. The most important thing is to have fun though and not finishing in a set time (unless it's a goal you set yourself)
I hope you also have a fantastic New Year's Day and a Happy 2025!
